Hello all, thought id show you my new daily driver.

Due to changes, basically going back to 1 mini only and new job closer to home, i thought id invest in something newer as a daily driver, so was on the look out for a hot hatch but with a tight budget.

So anyway, found a 182 with both cup option packs. It needs afew jobs so got it at a good price.

Stuff to do

1) exhaust mounts weakening causing exhaust to touch bumper. NEW MOUNTS FITTED.

2) Buzzing from alarm when locked. - caused by a faulty door, boot or bonnet sensor. SORTED.

3) Jack floating around boot . DONE Secured using the strap in the boot.

4) Locking wheel nuts missing. REPLACED WITH A NEW SET.

5) few car park dents and a rust scab coming through on bonnet edge.

6) Traction control light comes on when driving - Steering angle sensor replaced and calibrated.

Thats about it, its fairly clean otherwise, drives nice. Got the history about the belt and pulley etc.

Spec level wise, its a full fat 182 as they call em in clio circles, with the 2 additional optional cup packs.

Its got digital climate control air con, onboard computer, cruise control, auto lights, auto wipers, xenon headlights, half leather / alantenra? interior etc etc.

Having the cup chassis option, it doesnt have a spare wheel nor a space to fit one, so its a can of repair foam stuff which isnt ideal....

The exhaust mounts seem to disappear every time you go for a drive, its normally the little rubber washer below the bracket. Do the windows wobble when closed? This can cause the alarm to go off. Its a renault so theres always going to be problems, but they are GREAT little cars (my brother had 2 at one point) for the money i dont think you can go any faster really. The grip is unbelievable! Enjoy :P

LOVE these but dont think I could ever own one.  Hate the feel of the gearbox.  Very long and vague throw of the stick.  Look great and handle great, just never got on with the box.  Pedals are well spaced for heel and toe though.

Still havent sorted this, booked in for a check over at a renaultsport specialist this morning.

Few things to look at,

ABS/TCS/SERV warnings now permantly on from turning ignition on.

A vibration through steering (wheels balanced twice, dont appear to be buckled, track rod end replaced......still same)

Vague steering (had tracking set, still vague)

clunk from nsf but cannot find any play, possible top mount.

But will let them check it over and go from there.

Over the weeks, ive done pads all round, new NSR caliper as it was siezed and dragging the brakes, track rod end OSF, new locking wheel nuts, rubber mats.

Well its got afew issues

TCS/ABS/SERV is the Steering angle sensor.

Needs

- 2 front springs (nsf is original but fractured, osf is non gen and wrong type)

- steering inner tie rods (play in both sides, TRE's are ok)

- Front discs heavily pitted on inner surface

Getting springs done and steering by local specialist including full wheel alignment setup.  discs etc ill do myself at a later date.

Rear tyres lower than I thought, so 2 tyres going on in morning.

Steering and springs done, driving alot straighter.

Front discs/pads to do at weekend, swap wheels back to front so best tyres on front.

Done front discs and pads, swapped front and rear wheels around, fixed OSR caliper not working properly, fitted new exhaust mounts *had to mod them aswell*

The exhaust mounts are rubbish, so I bought cheap ones and found a common mod to them to stop them breaking straight away.

Similar to this, but not as OTT and using a more flexible pipe in the gap.

Finally got round to replacing the OS sunvisor, the flap was damaged. So thats done now.

Managed to source a 'Steering Angle Sensor' from a forum, so hopefully get that sorted/calibrated and the 3 lights off the dash.

Looking for a genuine jack/brace kit inc bag to secure in the boot.
