We bought Trevor, our 1275GT at the end of 2012 and paid a considerable amount of money for him.
He's quite unusual though, and I think he's the earliest, more or less original (the majority of his paint is orginal) surviving 1275GT. He was built on 17th April 1970 and registered on 1st February 1971. He has every MOT, service sheet and bill from new.
It was really my husband who wanted him, as I was a little unsure about square noses. However, I have to say that he has bags of character, is a lot of fun and I prefer him to our Mk3 Cooper S. However, I have been amazed at the interest in him. He is very popular when we take him to general classic car shows and has recently been featured in Practical Classics. Before we had even picked him up, Corgi had asked us if they could use him as their new 1275GT model.
I guess the fact the magazines are interested in 1275GTs and that Corgi want to make a model of them, shows there must be strong interest. I guess this translates into rising values.
Here's Trevor's Corgi model (due out in March) - http://www.corgi.co....-yellow-trevor/ and here's Trevor himself (the photo's not mine)
