Hi, the wires on the brake reservoir cap are corroded and snapped off the connectors now. I know this sounds like I can't be bothered.... Well I can't  but I don't really need them connected do I? Well not straight away anyway.
I always check all the fluid level regularly anyway.

Thanks

Hi this is common for the mini
The wires connect to a float in the cap that simply illuminates the brake light switch when the fluid is low to be honest it's an easy fix you can pick up a new cap from mini spares
Folk on here have also repaired them using copper plate ( look on wee mini sky by Hugh ) he did this repair and it worked fine afterwards
Just remember it is a safety related item so best to get it sorted for your own peace of mind
All the best with it

I'll get it sorted at the weekend then

I think all it needs is the connectors on the cap cleaning, then get 2 new connectors for the wire. Only thing is the wire already seems quite tight

Does the warning light still light up on test when the ignition is first switched on? If not isn't this a fail in the latest MOT rules?

Might be worth dismantling it and cleaning it up also
I did this to mine simple job really just take your time you'll probably find lots of crud sitting in it especially around the terminals
Mine came up really well
