Hi everyone, I just passed my test on Tuesday and have tried. Compare the market (quoted £2500) and Adrian flux who haven't yet sent a quote. As this quote was insane. Does envy one have any advice to get cheaper insurance?

Thanks Bruce

Have a look in the insurance area, this thread may help http://www.theminifo...i-drivers-help/

Have you got any named drivers on the quotes? They can bring the quote down quite a bit.

I take it by your username you were born in 1996?

What are you driving? Is it standard or modified?

Erm, I use moneysupermarket.com for my quotes. Put my DOB in (I turned 17 4th Dec) and put in as if I've literally passed my test today. I get quotes of £900-2500+

try the other comparison sites. I don't know about you but currently but currently none if the admaril group are showing up on compare the market and they are usually pretty good for young drivers

It all depends on what engine size you are putting on the insurance and if it has any modifications

^ admiral/ elephant have been good to me. Been cheap for my cars. Now got the multicar policy
Best think to do is ring them up and get a quote. I think if I remember correctly they do a young drivers bonus. Which a 10 month insurance but gives u a year no claims and is cheaper than the normal 12 month policy then it is much cheap when you insure again
Hope you find some cheap insurance
Regards
Jordan

Yeah I'm only 17. And my mini is modified. Coil over conversion Exhaust and filter. Also has sports pack arches and 13" wheels
And has a 2.2 quick rack, group a bottom arms and tie rods. Poly bushed and rear beam axle

And of course is a 1275 engine

To be honest with that kind if spec,I think your origional quote is going to take some beating with your age and experience ect. I guess it didn't start if as a 1275?

I hate to say it but there is no chance for a cheap quote with the mods you have
Congratulations on passing
All I can suggest take the mods off have it standard or wait until your abit older or buy another standard mini cant really think of any other solutions

That is the standard engine size for the car I've managed to get it down to 1500 with Admiral so I'm going to go with them. Just put my dad on as a named driver and it dropped right down

Thanks, A lot of people have said the same thing. But all I've ever wanted is this mini and it's taken a lot of work and a lot of waiting if it comes to it I will just have to pay. Luckily I've got it down to 1500 by putting my dad as a named driver so it's not so bad now.
