Is it something to do with the brakes, or clutch or fluid for both?

How can your mini travel through such deep water and still run? Most people would get water in the distributor, even with the shield kit with this amount of water near the grill.
dunno, maybe just lucky! i have a well sealed electronic dizzy. used to have really bad issues when it was wet, but not anymore. also buy some damp start!

They managed it in the Italian Job, must have wrapped the engines in cling film to do those scenes
