you shouldnt have issues with the ignition system if it is well serviced and sealed. trick i learned was smear a bit of grease on the inside of the dizzy cap (where it overlaps the dizzy). this creates a barrier for moisture, and as said above spray the dizzy, coil and ht leats with damp start. this creates a think plastic layer stoppping water from getting in!

What Is This Switch For On Mini Dashboard?

It also leaves a sticky residue that can hold stuff that the HT electricity can track along. Just keep the cap 'n leads clean & dry. Regarding the brake test, there's a little "dibber" in the centre of the brake filler cap that sinks the float & turns the light on if pressed.

Can you post a photo of your well sealed dizzy, also how do you seal yours? Do you also have a weather shield and/or do you put a piece of plastic to in the front of the grill? How can your mini travel through such deep water and still run? Most people would get water in the distributor, even with the shield kit with this amount of water near the grill.where do you get replacement lamps for the switch. mine seems to be missing!
cheers
dunno, maybe just lucky! i have a well sealed electronic dizzy. used to have really bad issues when it was wet, but not anymore. also buy some damp start!
I don't know if putting a piece of plastic which is the length & width of the grill, will interfere with the fan or anything else.

not much to see for my dizzy, just looks like a dizzy. I havent used a weather shield in years (after mine fell off on the motorway), like i said a tin of damp start works wonders!
