Hi, was getting the frost off mini this morning and noticed that the widescreen inside was also frosty and back windows were soaking from inside. The mini surprisingly has no leaks and had a look on my lunch break and it's all dry under the carpets.

Can't help the weather, but is there any tips to keep the inside dry as I can start to see little bits of mould on the rear seats.

Gf got me a little electric heater so I can warm it up before I go work so it drys the air out a bit too.

I've got a stormforce cover but it's so annoying taking it on and off all the time.

Any ideas what I could do to stop the moisture? Or can't I really help it?

Thanks

i bought a bag from amazon which is designed for caravans. its a condensor and sucks all the moisture out of the air. the bag i had was a 1kg bag. cost me about a tenner and stopped it slightly. had to put it in the oven once a week to dry it out.

Cat litter in a small bucket (kids holiday/ beach bucket is ideal). Leave it in for a few days then put it in the airing cupboard or the oven on its LOWEST setting for a while to dry out, then repeat.

I did have a quick ook at them humidifier bag thingys but didn't know how good they really are.

I'll give the cat litter a go Tam.

See normal condensation like as if been banging in it I don't mind, but silly when the windows are actually proper wet. Might as well sell the mini and buy a moke and use that during winter :P might be warmer

anything with a high silica gel content would do the trick.

I used to have one of these in my old car because it was awful in the winter, it worked really well and it cost about £5-10. The mini isn't so bad but is usually a bit misty in the cold nights, I just crack the back window open and it usually clears.

I'll buy 2 of them dehumidifier bags see what difference they make.

Hopefully it rains tonight, rather it rain than frost as it's only like that when it's frosty out

I got some silica gel like this, just need to put them in the oven when they turn green.

I've heard if you put some fairy liquid on the windows it stops the windows from misting up.

Can you buy "cockpit heaters" in th UK? We have one in our audi, it's all wired in and has a socket on the front bumper. We just plug the car into a 230v socket at night and come out to a nice toasty car with no need to scrape.
Quite common over here.

I had a bit of moisture in a BMW and just left the cockpit heater on over night with fan, and window slightly open and all moisture was gone!

Buy yourself a proper electric dehumidifier (which you can pick up for under the £100 mark these days). Run an extenion lead to it and stick it in your mini overnight every couple of weeks on it's lowest humidity setting and you'll find a frightening amount of water in the tank when you come to empty it in the morning. Hey presto, one dry mini with minimal condensation, you'll also notice that your mini gets much warmer, much more quickly with all the damp air removed.

It's a bit of an expensive solution admittedly, but when you're not using it in your mini, you can use it to dry your clothes instead of using a tumble drier. Hang your washed clothes in the smallest room of the house and then shut the dehumidifier in there it's them, they cost much less to run than a tumble drier and you should find that your clothes last much longer too!

EDIT: Oh jeez!! I Just read that back and it really does sound like a "top tip" from a middle aged house wife in "Womans Own" magazine!

Buying some of these now, what do I do with it when they're full of water? Throw away or empty of water? Rather happy buying a 4 pack is cheaper than buying a 1 pack with 2 quantity
