It is with a very heavy heart that I am selling my 1997 Rover Mini Cooper due to the requirement for extra space with the addition of another dog in the family, forcing me to buy a 1980 Clubman Estate....

1997 Rover Mini Cooper - Japanese Import
1275 SPi Engine -54916 Miles (88379 km) Genuine
MOT - July 2014
Tax - March 2014
Tahiti Blue with standard Cooper white decals
Factory fitted air-conditioning which works, has no leaks but could do with a recharge
Mini Sport stage 1 Kit (maniflow LCB manifold, pipercross induction, superflow exhaust, NKG plugs)
Uprated HT leads, alloy rocker cover
12x6" Revolution alloy wheels in Brilliant white
Fiberglass wide arches - unknown type from Japan but they look great
Yokohama A539 tyres all round, only done 1000 miles, lots and lots of tread left
Coil spring suspension, done in Japan heavy duty type, very smooth ride.
Hi-Lo adjustable suspension
Black/cream piping leather interior with cooper laurels embossed thereon
Walnut dashboard, door capping and gear knob
Pressed aluminium registration plates from Framptons (not cheap)
Ring Rally Spot lights
Sony Xplod CD/MP3/AUX/Radio head unit
Fli 7" Speakers
Cooper floor mats
Oogha Air-Horn
Lots of paperwork and receipts

This car is in excellent condition, not having had any welding. It has no rust aside from a little stone chipping on the rear valance but I am being very picky. The car needs to be seen to believe this, you will be hard pressed to find another late model cooper in such original condition that hasn't been restored/bodged.

It was imported to the UK in 2008, rust protected and was dry stored until I bought the car in 2011 and it has been my daily driver since, it is an excellent runner, very pampered and washed/waxed twice a week at the least.

£5800ono - I am looking for a quick sale as my wedding is fast approaching, questions and test drive welcome provided you can provide proof of fully comprehensive insurance.

Another bump. If I lived over there I would be snapping up these Minis. We pay so much for them in the States. I have a Japanese 1994 Mini with the A/C and hi-los and it drives like a dream. I can attest to how great these ones are. The Japanese imports rarely have rust. I hope my view will help sell it. My car guy who fixes my Mini has always told me the Japanese imports are great. Good luck to you in your sale.

It had occurred to me that some people might not want to create a flickr account.

The astute/geeks out there will notice that it has opening rear windows and air-con models should have fixed.  I liked the chrome trim on the opening windows.  The car comes with the original glass and a few other bits and pieces. **CB and stickers have been removed and were never listed for sale in first place**

Please make me an offer, you never know I might say yes, don't insult me though, the car is mint

I need this to sell quickly as I now have bills awaiting for my wedding.

Looks a bit scabby? I won't stoop to the level of trying discouraging people from buying others cars, but people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

As my listing states, slight stone chipping on the rear valance, purely cosmetic, on the bottom lip, those little bits in the picture (click the Flickr link and you'll see it larger), aside from that, yes.  Have you ever seen a Japanese import?, they don't use salt on their roads and I made sure that the car was well protected for use here.

There are people on this forum and the Scottish forums who can tell you their opinion of the car and I'm sure they will agree with me.

Anyone is welcome, in fact positively encouraged, to come and see this car in the flesh.

No disrespect meant mate, but I don't need to enlarge the photo, the word 'mint' means 'mint', it is an easy job to sort, but in this case not mint

Whoa, there is rust on the valance. Not "stone chipping" but rust. Not much but rust nonetheless.

Nobody is trying to discourage people from buying your car. It's merely been pointed out that rust on a car doesnt equal a "mint" car. Any potential buyer would appreciate a fellow forum user pointing out that discrepancy.

Does it have any other rust or bubbling, however minor?
