If people on this forum wish to be pedantic, the car is in excellent condition, near mint, aside from the rear valance, as stated in the original listing!!

an honest sale is appreciated, glad you agreeWhoa,there is rust on the valance. Not "stone chipping" but rust. Not much but rust nonetheless.Looks a bit scabby? I won't stoop to the level of trying discouraging people from buying others cars, but people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
As my listing states, slight stone chipping on the rear valance, purely cosmetic, on the bottom lip, those little bits in the picture (click the Flickr link and you'll see it larger), aside from that, yes. Have you ever seen a Japanese import?, they don't use salt on their roads and I made sure that the car was well protected for use here.
There are people on this forum and the Scottish forums who can tell you their opinion of the car and I'm sure they will agree with me.
Anyone is welcome, in fact positively encouraged, to come and see this car in the flesh.
Nobody is trying to discourage people from buying your car. It's merely been pointed out that rust on a car doesnt equal a "mint" car. Any potential buyer would appreciate a fellow forum user pointing out that discrepancy.
Does it have any other rust or bubbling, however minor?

it is rust, easy fix though thank godNo, and I wouldn't describe it as rust as it is only a few minor spots along the valance and not the whole thing.

Is this a for sale thread? or a topic of conversation regarding the wording of the item? As far as I can see it appears to be going off topic.
I think unless your interested in buying something ie this car or what ever, by all means share your views or comments, otherwise keep your thoughts to yourself, you get what you see as well as what is in the description, so I don't think its fair to say there has been anything hidden. The use of the word "mint" in this case generally does describe the overall presentation of this very well looked after mini. Trust me I have seen it in the flesh, I have serviced and MOT'd it.
As I have already mentioned I think Martin has given an honest account of the car and if he had anything to hide then he would not have shown any pic's of "questionable bits". At the end of the day the area in question is a very simple fix/tidy up, from all the car's I see you will be hard pushed to find an example in similar condition, as am sure many of you are aware a fresh looking shinny paint job often hides a number of sins, I scrapped such a mini less than a year ago that an unfortunate customer bought for a good sum of money, however on closer inspection it was rotten beyond economical repair, mainly built out of filler and then glossed over with a nice paint job.

I know it's a simple fix, if you have to fix somethin on a car, it is not mint, but if someone is really interested they will go see the car and see that themselves, just helps to save them a journey that's all like I knowIs this a for sale thread? or a topic of conversation regarding the wording of the item? Well with all respect I wouldn't say yours is "in really good condition" seeing as the boot floor needs doing, that would be the first thing I would mention in an add, "will need boot floor welded" think its all in the wording, am not getting on anyone's/your case, this all seems to be to easy, and to regular an occurrence on forums these days hence my lack of involvement on them in general, I have better things to get on with.
I have just done a complete boot floor that resembled yours, and the rest that subsequently fell to bits, on a model the same as your own, I don't patch stuff, and to be honest it was a small fortune and a lot of work to do correctly, I know to well that once you get right into these things there is often going to be much more involved in fixing it. I don't think a flaky bit on the lip of a valance is comparable however.
My real point here is the nit picking and deviation from the sale, perhaps you have a direct interest as you are trying to sell a similar car, however as I said already its all there to see, and read, take it as you wish, I prefer to see some originality and expect the odd mark or scabby bit, its a mini after all. But if folk are becoming that analytical with regards to the suitable terminology/ usage of the Queens English then to me I find that a bit sad.
So back on topic and I will edit the add on Martins behalf ;
" Very, very clean" well looked after Jap Mini Cooper for sale, wants for nothing apart from a good new owner and a flaky bit painted on the lip of the rear valance, I may even fix it for him prior to sale for free !
How's that?

yeah your right, I stated the floor needs doing, it is all about wording, just gotta be as accurate as possible, and I will take a massive dip in price if I sell mine due to boot floor, perfectionists would replace the boot floor, I wouldn't, and won't, I'm a welder by trade and I understand what the materials areWell with all respect I wouldn't say yours is "in really good condition" seeing as the boot floor needs doing, that would be the first thing I would mention in an add, "will need boot floor welded" think its all in the wording, am not getting on anyone's/your case, this all seems to be to easy, and to regular an occurrence on forums these days hence my lack of involvement on them in general, I have better things to get on with.

Like, if I patch up the boot it will looks smart and last for a very long time, cutting out the affected zone and replacing it is fine, the whole boot floor doesn't always need doing, not every mini is the same, tbf though I'd be chuffed if mine was only rusty on that bottom lip
