I was after a mini that needed some work and in November 2008 stumbled across a 1999 Cooper sportspack which had small accident damage (dented wing and broken headlight) and was a non-runner which was expected to be an immobiliser fault.
I ended up buying the car for £1600 and it soon after arrived home. The engine was soon fixed with a new battery and she fired up first time.
Unfortunately I have lost the photos due to broken phones until around half way through the build, but the car was treated to new sils, front floor, boot floor, front end and repairs to just about every panel.
We shall pic up the action once this work was completed

The photos above show the car with its new metal and the beginnings of paintwork with undercoat in the engine bay
The following job was to paint the engine bay which resulted in this

This was a huge milestone as by this time it was around 4 years after the car arrived home, soon after the body work gained more paint with undercoat being applied

The final paint preparation took place and the car was ready for its top coat, I have prepared a little before and after, hopefully you can tell which is which!!!!

Once the paint was on, I was desperate to get the car back on its wheels after around 3 years of them being stored!!

The photo doesn't show the addition of 4 pot callipers and fully adjustable suspension
Next up was painting the engine which at the moment remains basically standard other than a K&N filter and LCB manifold and getting it fitted along with a new DTM back box (which is much louder than expected!!!)

To be continued....
