How old are you? And have you got it insured under a classic car policy?

My dad is 55 and like you has the classic cars insured through Footman James on a limited mileage classic car policy. They don't however insure him to drive any other vehicles.

Check out if they will allow you to by adding a little more to your premium (dad has other daily cars and thus doesn't need that on the classic car policy) - not sure if classic car policies allow you to but it's worth finding out.

Lancaster Ins. allow you to drive other cars third party only and now my insurance has gone down another £30 still one or two to phone

Lancaster were very competitive when I was trying to insure my Escort. I'll keep that in mind for the future :)

Lancaster depends on who underwrites the insurance policy. NOT ALL lancaster policies include it.

That was a reason why FJ stopped insuring 17 year old new drivers even though they were insuring a classic car as they see it as a classic car policy should not be used as an every day policy and hence want people to have another "modern" car which is already insured and that they have access to.
