Earlier today I had a conversation with a bloke who insisted new MINIs are all Coopers and old Minis are just Mini, and that's how you differentiate between them when talking about them.

No matter what I said, I couldn't convince him otherwise.

haha a new one parked next to me today and when i walked out from work i thought someone had knicked mine but then i realised it was next to it cause i couldnt see it at all :P wish i got a picture

Yep, just at the weekend I had the proverbial old couple come up to me saying 'ooo, we had one of these back in the 70s, isnt yours lovely' - what can you say??  At a small car show same weekend a little kid ran up to my car and tried to hug it!!!  Her Dad had a fit because he thought I was going to complain, but I just laughed and asked if she wanted to sit in it - funny though, her Dad jumped in!

Was walking out of work with my boss yesterday, as we approached the mini he said "I'd love another mini some day, don't know whether I would fit now though". I told him to get in it, so he did and as he was getting in he whacked his head on the top of the door frame :lol: when in it he was pretending to drive it with a few noises >_< then when he got out he was like "anyway I will see you tomorrow" (in his boss voice), then in a kiddy voice "I'm going home to look for minis" :lol: while getting into his huge Audi. Made my day!

It's my ambition to get £30 in my estate!  Even at our ridiculous prices (£1.38 a litre) I've only ever managed £28.

That would explain a lot, when I took mine over everyone asked for pictures with it when we stopped.

Best one I had was from a Mustang Driver who I outdid at various road sections before getting onto the motorway. Stopping to fill up my old Turbo Mini, he simply said.... "Swap?"  It was a 2005 Standard, looked lush, but, I said no, "No one suspects a 1967 Mini" :D Ah the days of 230bhp..... Now I'm back down to 41 ish.....

Im 18, the best comment I've had yet was from a bloke of at least 65, i would say older who commented;

"I hope you don't drive that like I drove mine"

Needless to say all i could manage was a lighthearted chuckle

At a petrol station an older gentleman "I used to use mine for off roading too" confused me slightly. It could be some thing to do with the fact it's really muddy.
