Ok is it me been thick?

 

Picked up a pair of used subframes and as far as i can see are complete?

 

Question is where.how do the bolt to the car??

As far as I know the rear just sits in the floor but the front bits the flat bars should bolt thought the original mounts in the x member

You may need to weld some steel square hollow section across the car where the rear of the seat sub-frames go and fit welded in trapped nuts to hold the rears. Those sub-frames are normally non-hinged, or at least the ones I've seen have been.

Ahhh so there is a sub frame mounting bracket in the cross member??

 

Thinks thats what im missing?

The other way is to have two brackets coming down from each side at the back and going right across at floor level with a piece of hardwood about 3" x 12" x 1/2" thick between the support and the floor to spread the load. You then bolt the support bracket & wood to the floor with some spreader plates under the floor. At the front you can normally fit a mounting which picks up on the existing seat brackets.

so whats the fixing points on the cross member for? 4 x passive nuts in there?

The 4 off trapped nuts each side of the seat are for the standard forward seat brackets.
