So here is a piccy of the inside.
Spade connector to ignition live, orange wire to coil and dizzy??? earthed via terminal on rear of casing?
Any ideas
Mid sentence: orange wire to coil and dizzy
Explain those connections better please.
The simple installation for a non-stock wiring scheme would be to leave the factory power connection to coil (+) from the ignition key switch. REMOVE the factory white black wire running between coil (-) and the distributor. Connect one end of the tach's orange wire to coil (-), the other end of the orange wire to the distributor terminal.
If that fails to work, disconnect the orange wire and loop it a second time through the ferrite core on the circuit board. I don't remember how many loops are inside of a "normal" unmodified tach. If that fails to work, switch which ends of the orange wire you connect to the coil and distributor.
