i know that they arn't the player rims they arn't as good so i've been told. i got them from bling rims. but they arn't the easiest people to get hold of. www.blingrims.com i think is their web site. but unless you are having them for just shows i wouldn't get them, i'm on my second set now as my car is used everyday. when i got them a few years ago they were about £650 with rubber.

sorry to go off topic a bit.

My input on the 6x9 debate.

Unfortunately the Internet is an evil place with a penchant for taking opinion, changing it, and making it ‘fact’.
A few years back, there commenced a massive onslaught of oval bashing, usually eminating from the “You don’t go to a concert and face away from the stage do you?, which, incidentally, is an analogy that holds water like a colander, you face the stage because you’ve just paid £50 to see your favourite band. Besides, an arena is in no way shape of form comparable acoustically to a small hatchback, in fact you can’t get anything more different. Try it. You don’t hear any worse and in my experience, you can actually hear clearer. That’s why humans have ears on the side on their head :D

6x9s are designed to do a lot of things. Jack of all trades, master of none. And for what you want them to do, if you pick carefully and don’t buy cheap, they do it bloody well.
Not everyone has the time, patience or inclination to install components and minimise PLDs, toil with the phase issues at crossover points, figure out of on or of axis improves spectral balance etc etc. A lot of people want simple easy to fit speakers all in one and that’s precicesly what they do, and some do it a damn sight better than nasty ebay component specials
;)

amen to that! well put.
If you want to hear a decent sound system, a rattly tin can on wheels with the bare minimum of sound proofing and an big noisy engine a metre from you is not really going to be the place..

Tape headunit linked to 6cd changer

running 2 6x9s hidden on rear shelf.

Simple, efficent

Now that for me wins all the way.

I too like the natural sounds of the car but I do also enjoy listening to good music. I think I will be doing something very similar to this when it is complete.

Plus, I like having a boot. Small granted but a boot none the less.

Much better SQ than splx, and better on SPL too
Matt

I like that. I was thinking of doing that but with either the tread pattern or carbon fibre style.
