Just been browsing the site for a while as I'm contemplating a Mini Van resto!

I'm Dave, and live just outside Rochdale, and my passion for the last few years has been (And still is) Reliant Scimitars. I've had a few Mini's in the past but nothing for 15 years or so, and they were all up and running or light resto Jobs.

Anyway, Ive got the oppertunity to own a Mini van which has been stood for 20 years, is a 1980 on a V, and to be honest a total basket case. :)

The rear end is actually very reasonable, as is the roof...however pretty much everything from the middle of the front floor pans(Including the complete bulkhead, which is what is putting me off   ) forward is toast. Plenty of (rough) spares with it, but really we're talking the rear end of a shell here, with a siezed engine and no doubt many more horrors!  I'm keen for a project, and not scared of graft but dont want to bite off more than I can chew as they say!  I do have some pics if there's interest??

Anyway, Hello, and thanks for reading!

Hi Dave, do you live near Hollingworth Lake by any chance? I've seen a red scimitar up there and thought it could be you "just outside Rochdale" haha. I'm in Delph over the hill in Saddleworth.Good luck if you decide to go for the project.

Not used to this forum and just tried to copy n paste photobucket pics until I realised I cant :)

I'll just try 2 of the Scimitar first and see how it goes. It's a 1968, and I have a 3.1 V6 in it with a Kent cam, steel timing gear etc...

You weren't joking when you said a basket case Dave Blimey! Will feel nice and rewarding when its done though no doubt. Sad to hear about the scimitar, I always enjoyed looking out for it when passing through ha.
