Has anyone used Leather Spray Dye before? Looking to change the colour of my back seat and it looks as if it would cost about £20 all in?
From the YouTube videos and websites it looks easy to do and supposedly has good results but like anything on the Internet you never know what it's really like...
Anyone had any past experience?

Cheers
Matt

Although not a dye we had our leather suite refinished due to wear and tear and the upholsterer used a paint and lacquer system. Brilliant worked really well and has lasted for over 7 years. I also had the leather in my old Calibra done on the bolster on the drivers seat. Looked like new and still looked good when I sold the car two years later.

As for the dye I don't know but if done properly it should work.

I've used the stuff from Frost on seats door-cards and dashboards (vinyl not leather but it says it's suitable for leather) and it works fine. It's sort of a system with a special cleaner then a pre-wipe before finally applying the paint.

When they did our suite the cleaner he used took out virtually all of the old colour which was a shock but when he finished you would not have known it was not the original colour.

I've used a dye to colour a leather top dash rail and it works brilliantly, rub on leave for period of time and buff up, looks perfect and no dye has come off!

Finally got round to spraying the rear seats with the spray dye,

It looks amazing!

Such a nice glossy black shine to them.

So pleased how they turned out I'm doing the door cards etc. with it too.

For £26 with the prep cleaner its a bargain and highly recommended!

:highfive:

Ebay item number.... 260840874296

Worth getting the cleaner with it too.

I am so surprised how well it worked, defiantly cheaper than recovering and looks just as good.

I got 1 400ml can and that done the whole of the rear seat with 3 coats to get a decent finish.

Sorry lads didn't realise this was still going. The mini is in the garage ready for its mot on Monday. I'll take some when it's back and put them up. But great bit of kit and so much cheaper than recovering them.

I've spray painted a few interiors and got excellent results, but i prefer a matt-satin finish.
