Have no fear its not about mods (ish)!

So its that time of year, where everything has come at once (MOT, Tax, Insurance renewal)

Now I would like to put my step-dad on my insurance policy (He helps work on the mini sometimes, so would be convenient) however I live at home with my Dad.

Can you have a secondary driver at a different address?

And while I'm here, are their any specialists for someone as young as me? I have been doing a few online quotes and its currently at £530 with my intended mods declared, fully comp, 8000 miles a year, 1 years no claims.

It doesn't matter where the other driver lives at all :)

Who have you got that quote with? My friend is looking at the moment :)

I've never had any problems with having a named driver who doesn't live with me and I've never seen it asked for either.

I think £530 is really cheap I doubt you'll find better; I'm 22 with 3 years experience and NCB and the best I've found is £500!

Hey Joe, im 23 with one years no claims (has two accidents but think one has just fallen off) and i got mine at £300 (multicar mind) with admiral. If you have another car at the address it may be worth trying a multicar - saves a fortune. I pay £75 for the mini and my big car (new fiesta ecoboost) per month for me and an additional driver (with my track record and other drivers points).

thanks the £500 was from admiral but it was a single car quote so I'll definitely have a look at a multi car quote.

Ah thanks for clearing that up. And that's just with Elephant £370 standard, £530 with Stage 1, lowered, alloys, arches, steering wheel, air filter. Cant remember what else.

The address your step dad lives at won't make any difference, and hopefully having him as a second driver will reduce the premium slightly!
