Anyone got one of these yet?

Seen the Mini Magazine review on youtube and seems a good thing to have for the price.

Doesn't look to be anything special.

Can get the same on ebay for less.

I got one when they first came out... Been very good so far.

eBay ones are only a few quid cheaper but don't come with the mounting bracket, SIM card and nice terminals.

tempted as one of the guys in the mini club had an attempted break in and drive away the other night. I know I cannot stop it being stolen but will hopefully make recovery easier

Oops I just started a thread on this in the general forum. £24.00 on eBay for same thing without the bracket (but everything else) the SIM cards from sainsburys are free anyway !!

Be interested if anyone who has one from minivation can say what it is they have done that's worth twice the £££ - I do genuinely want one, but not daft enough to pay twice as much without good reason...

Do they come with the same app?

You download it from iTunes !

Off now to look at minispares website...

I'm beginning to feel that minivation are charging twice the going rate with a vague cloak of mini specific, mini specialism surrounding it, and having the balls to say it's an introductory offer.

Hi all, we've had a few people compare our tracker kit to what is available on eBay. The tracker unit is the same but that's where the similarity stops. We've put together a graphic to show the differences.
Our tracker kit is specifically aimed at people with little or no technical knowledge OR people who don't have the time to go round eBay sourcing all the components. Obviously if you have a technical background then you're going to source one from Ebay and do all the additional work yourself.

For more information please have a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page or get in touch!

Oh and the video on YouTube is one we made with Mini magazine.

The 'mini specific' comment is related to the bracket we've designed to help people securely mount it to a solid part of the mini's bodywork. We're not trying to dupe anybody, just provide a kit of parts that makes protecting your pride and joy really easy and accessible to everyone, not just the technically minded!

Hi how much work has been done on the power supply? I'm just a little concerned about leaving it always connected I don't want it burning out or causing any issues? It it protected in case of burn out / god forbid fire?

I was wondering this when i came to fit it the other day. I'm not used to connecting stuff directly to the battery, should there be an inline fuse ?

Without a doubt fit an inline fuse!

The tracker has its own battery, and will tell you if it's going flat, so you'll know if the fuse has blown!

It looks good, but £50 is a big price for something with very little features.

This one on Amazon is half the price an has a lot more features, and lots of excellent reviews.
