As I've mentioned one or two times (!) I'm selling my Mini. The insurance runs out in mid-March, so if it hasn't sold by then, I'll need to reinsure.

What I'll need is a low-cost policy that rewards very low road use. I've already bought another car, so I won't be using the Mini at all except for test-drives.

Does anyone know of a suitable policy?

Also, are there shorter-term policies than 12 months? I would hope to have it sold much quicker than that!

How old are you?

A classic policy with limited mileage of say 1000 miles, will be cheap if you are the right age. Probally cheaper than taking out a policy and cancelling it, as the cancelation charges these days are rediculous.

I'm 44, though I only took my test two years ago.

The problem with day insurance is presumably it's not insured at all outside that period. So no fire, theft, storm damage protection . . .

I did a quick Compare the Market and found a quote at £140 for the year, which isn't too bad.

Loads of companies do 1500 miles. Just ring round.
