I've got Hi-Lo's and have lowered the suspension, i'd love to go a little bit lower but my wheels already scrape on the arches when I hit a bump or have a few passengers. Is there any way to stop the suspension from compressing after a certain point?

Not without being dangerous. The suspension moves for a reason, preventing it from doing so will mean that any energy coming through the wheels when you hit a bump will be transferred directly to the car. This will either result in damage to the car or in the worst scenario, a loss of control.

There's not much give in my tyres, so I guess the only safe solution would be to modify the wheel arches to make them wider but lower so that the wheels travel into the arch without hitting it.

The alloys are 13 x 7. Can't remember what the tyres are other than they're Yokohama, problem is that the car is sitting in my nans garage until March 5th so I won't be able to find out. They could be these.
