Hi all....

Well it looks like I'm going more and more away from the standard mini resto....

I've just 'tweaked' a rear valance, cut up, reprofiled it and made my own 50s style visor.....

OK, so it needs a lot more work....but what do you reckon?

Has anyone done anything similar?

Need some more ideas, so suggest away...(on here or on the build thread)

Cheers, Andy

Looks very cool indeed, I've often wondered if a valance would make a good sun visor.

If you've not decided on how to attach it yet the picture bellow might be handy. It's a Ford Zephyr sun visor and the fixings latch over the roof gutter then clamp down.

If I ever get around to making one it's probably how I'll be attaching it.

Thanks Tupers, that's exactly what I was going to do...

You can buy repro visors like the one you pictured, but they are expensive and would still need trimming to fit....and are GRP.

So I thought I'd have a go myself. The leading edge will have a chrome edge on it and be a drip rail for the rain. Hopefully with the really small 'screen and this, I'll not need to use the wipers much ;D

May end up cutting holes in it (or most probably ovals) so it'll look more like this....

Gawd...... You've gotta love a ratrod!!!.

Maybe when 'Chop's' done, I'll do the 'real thing' :highfive:
