Welcome to the 21st century. I think you might still be in the 19th!

You must be one of the very few people within walking distance of your insurance company! Do you even have a bank account, or do you just keep your money under your bed? If so, whats your address please?!

thanks!

i have always used footman james, who luckily are really close to me! i buy a new car, i get it insured in old hill, get it mot'd in netherton, and get it taxed on the way back, all within a few miles of each other.

my bank always ask me why i dont start doing things on the net, they dont seem to understand that when your self employed and people pay you cash, you cant scan in it at home and it appears in your account! all my banking is also done in person, my bank is between the post office and the insurance company!

if going to the post office once a year for each of your cars to tax it is such a problem, then my god thats just lazy! unless you live in the outer hebredes in scotland, you cant be that far from one! there is at least 5 within walking distance of my house!

i hate all this "do it online" rubbish, in the time it takes me to get my laptop switched on, i could walk to the post office! certain things about modern life really get on my nerves, this sounds like its going to be another one!

I'm a little old fashioned too.

Online is easier but also a real pain when it all goes wrong or databases lose information.

Ended up with a very large fine that took nearly a year to fight through the courts over a wrong digit in an online account.

Times are changing thats for sure!

so will i still be able to just go and tax my car in the post office? i would hope so, i cant image all the old dears going on line to do it?

i cant be bothered with all the faf on the net. they will want you to register, and make up usernames and passwords and all this other rubbish, and ill only end up forgetting it all, or losing the paper i wrote it on.

i know im on this forum, but the email address i used to sign up with i cant even access now!

Yes the post office will still relieve you of your cash.

There will always be people who don't like living out their whole lives online.. including their money.

I don't even carry a mobile phone 90% of the time  :shy:

Just taxed my jalopy at the post office, didn't even have to bother showing MoT & insurance certs using the renewal notice.
