Do you think its the castor oil that makes the distinctive smell or the other components.

I've still got some from karting. When I next fill up the mini I'm gonna put some in :D

I am sure that it is the castor oil, because when I was very much younger I had a brief flirtation with model aircraft, and one of the more successful fuel mixes involved castor oil, complete with smell.

 

Actually I am getting interested in model aircraft again, with the radio control equipment being of negligible cost compared to the late 1960s, and the possibility of cheap autopilots and GPS, so you can take a break and leave it circling overhead, or fit a camera and have it automatically produce aerial photographs. But I really fancy a quad (or more) rotor helicopter, with greatly extended endurance due to the use of an alternator driven by a real engine, instead of batteries. But house renovation needs to be finished first, then workshop and Mini.....
