As we see a lot of question here regarding fuses on the Mini for the headlights, I thought I'd explain how the circuit works and where the feed comes from.
On the Pre - 24 fuse box cars There Is No Fuses Feeding The Headlight Dip Or Main Beam Circuit
The main feed into the main light switch is a Brown wire feed unfused from the starter solenoid
The feed out of the main light switch to the combined Dip/Flasher/Horn switch is a Blue Wire
The Feed out of the Dip Switch is a Blue/Red on Dip Beam and Blue/White on Main beam
There is a Red Feed out of the Main Light Switch to a fuse which then comes out on a Red/Green to the side lights
There are 2 more wires in the Combined Switch a Purple which is fused feed into the switch for Head Light Flash and a Purple/Black to the Horn Push
If you check the Wiring Diagram Below I have picked out the circuit and the colours for you.
If you have a Mini (pre 24 fuse box) and you have a single fuse feeding the headlights then its Dangerous, and should be rectified as a matter of urgency.
