Todays achievement! best ive ever had. was over 20 miles coming out of a city and along dual carriageway. car still totally standard engine wise so once its remapped and egr deleted it should be even better, who needs a prius eh!

This is my latest purchase, a 1991 volvo 240 gl. rescued from scrappy :-) sold as good nick but no mot tax and needs welding on sills. No problem, fix it up, put 12 months mot on and use it and maybe sell on in a while. went to see how much tax was and found it had mot till august! so probably not staying for long which i am genuinly sad about as it is in such good condition apart from the rust on the sills. runs perfect and only done 120K!!! But its just to good an oppertinity to make cash doing very little! if i find another though i wont hesitate to snap it up!

Why someone would want to scrap it is beyond me! and yes it is HPI clear ect! :-)

2.3T swap....2.3T SWAP!

went at the weekend :-( very sad to see it go but made a very healthy profit. if i find another at the right price id struggle to say no. I like the idea of slamming it wih a skyline engine or similar! Have another project turning up this weekend though :-)

They're cool old busses. I sometimes toy with the idea of building a drift one in my workshop. These are the kind of cars you want though, easy to turn around with a good profit margin. Need to start doing things like that to offset my workshop costs and give me some beer money :) Oooh, what have you got?

Oh yes, i really did like the volvo, if it wernt for the new project i would almost certainly have kept it especially looking at the prices they are creeping towards 1500+ for a good one, with the welding done mine would certainly have been a match for the cars advertised at those kind of prices, the word time worp springs to mind!

new project is mid engined, rear wheel drive........

bedford midi ambulance! given to me by a friend of the family who has relaised he is never going to have time to do anything with it and doesnt want to scrap. no idea what the condition is but seen a pic and looks ok, plan is to do a camper conversion and leave it ambulancy on the outside.

They can only go up in price I suppose. And you do get the odd insanely looked after "One Doctor owner from new" one pop up now and again. Ha! Ambulance camper. Keep the sirens on it, will mean you can get past the caravans on the way to the campsite ;)

Love the Mk4 Golf, my wife bought a Tdi 100 new in 2003 and we kept it for 11 years and around 110000 miles. Only issue I can recall was a failed fuel pump and booth front door window mechanisms which is a really common fault. The last few years we had it I used it as my daily driver - cheaper to run than the Disco. It was averaging 58 MPG. Just replaced it 8 months ago with a 2.0 Tdi 177hp Tiguan 4 motion which is a lovely car but sadly much less economical - about 43MPG. I miss the blue and red dash board display too!

I'd of rather had the Volvo than the golf!

in many ways so would I! I need the golf for work though with its reliability and fuel economy. If i had the space i would certainly have kept it.

Rather than book in it at a place can you not just get a bluefin? Did my fiesta in under 20mins! :)

Just had a quick look and blue fin are more expensive than a very well reputed specialist mapping place (r-tech) . Plus you dont get a custom map and it doesn't get rolling roaded.

had it mapped today, what a differance!!! It really flies, any gear foot down and your off! Mpg well up as well journey today down motorway at some miles an hour would have done about 52/53 mpg, with map 59! Anyone reading this with a tdi or even turbo petrol forget snazzy wheels ECT, get it mapped. After all you can't see the wheels when you're driving.
