Kept the 3.1, goes alright! Might switch to 3.44 if I get bored of the cam and end up taking it out again to switch them. Seems like a nicely put together engine though. Gearbox is lovely too. Will be booked in at minispares for a tune and I shall let you know the figures it makes. Will probably fit a vac advance dizzy too.

Abit more lively low down with the 3.44 but noise/long runs were the reason i thought to change to 3.1. Diff was rebuilt with harded pin, new gears, thrusts etc at same time.

 

Be nice to see some figures on it, should run even better when optimized setup.

Where'd you get your mirrors from if you don't mind me asking? 

 

 

Should have the mini back with me soon, as all the welding will have been done, once it's back with me, i'll be filling, rubbing down and primering everything, ready for paint.

 

Also need to drill holes for certain things like boot light, side repeaters and wing mirrors!

 

My passenger door was too far gone, so I went to IMM to get a replacement door... Came back with a door, primered that earlier.

 

 

Also came back with a bit more 

 

4 reverse rims with tyres, also got some hub caps from auto jumble

 

 

Girlfriend got me mk1 grille, tash and whiskers as a late birthday present

 

 

Various other things have arrived, like thinners, sanding discs etc, but that's boring! paint should be here tomorrow.

 

Also forgot to say I got my mirrors, which are going on the wings.
