Right so i have a weber 40 and need a linkage and have found many i think will do the job but none seem to include the choke cable....soooo am i missing something any help welcome as my head has begun to hurt....

Choke cable on a DCOE is seperate and attaches to the choke lever, standard mini choke cable works fine

Ok but does that not need to attach to a linkage or something as wont it just move around...?

no there is a pinch nipple on the front of the DCOE to feed the choke cable through - note some people remove the cold start mech (choke mech in old money) so yours may be missing

Aaahhhhh thankyou you are a life saver mine does have the cold start mech but not sure about the pinch screw..but your wisdom has helped it all make sense.....

Don't bother with the cold start mechanism (Choke) Most people running a DCOE don't use them at all, as they tend to foul the plugs instantly.

The car will start fine you just need to baby it for a coupe of minutes on the first start of the day.

On a weber you do not need to run a choke. Because the weber has pump jets, every time you pump the throttle it squirts fuel into the engine. So on start up, on a normal day, 3 pumps and it will fire straight up, few more on a cold day and then a few when it's running but still keeping the revs sensible.

Sweet cheers for the heads up guys so should i remove the cold start mech or just leave it there and not use it.....

On all the race cars I run with webers on, none have the cold start removed. I'd Leave it be;)
