hi mate

decent build

if you dont mind me asking what drive fklanges/bearing carrier assembly did you use for the rear hubs/trailing arms?

also do you fill your tube with sand when bending it??? haha...i made a few attempts and the tube just kinks and folds lol

cheers

Hi the drive flanges are vauxhall astra/vectra/agila,

no sand is used when bending the tube , all you need is a hydraulic pipe bender and a former that is a tight fit on the tube.

not sure what way scrapview does it but you are supposed to use the former for the internal size of the pipe you're bending

how are you calculating your suspension geometry and travel etc at the front...and the rear end i suppose to a degree?? have you taken measurements off z cars stuff or just seeing what looks good and hoping for the best lol?

are you using cds or just 50mm tube?

good work so far

front and rear end looks quality

suspension geometry on the front is virtually the same as a standard mini with the exception that this is fully adjustable both camber and caster, the ride hight , spring strength and travel are also adjustable , the mini geometry works well so why change it ,with the added bonus that it wont have any bump steer as the steering rack pivot joints are still the correct distance apart to correspond to the wishbone pivot points ,no measurements of any kind are taken from zcars , in fact i have never seen a zcar mini in the flesh ,I would not be at all surprised if zcars geometry is identical to  that of a standard mini subframe .  the tube that i use is mild steel , cds is all very well and very strong , springy ! untill you try and bend it or have a really bad smash in the car , cds shatters and or snaps near the welds on hard impact this is a well know fact in the autograss world , less and less builds are with cds nowadays . . the tube is erw , 34mm od 3mm wall thickness and this is what i always use , its a lot stronger than 1" box and not a lot heavier.

forgot to mention the wishbone pivots are all set 1" higher than a standard mini , hence lowering the car by 1" and not screwing up the wishbone angle.

At the moment i have five inches of travel at the front wheel , and i have mathematically worked out that there is 185 LBS spring rate at the wheel give or take a couple lbs . the suspension units are yzf r6 with a 520 LB spring rate , the rockers or pivots are 1998 to 2003 yzf r1 units.

If you need any further detail i'd be happy to divulge any information on the build , no secrets here lol
