ive just tried fitting my boot lid back on to my clubman with a new seal, it's the type that attaches to the boot lid rather than the boot its self.

i'm using the orginal hinges, original boot lid

and it seems like theres no way in hell the lock mechanism is ever going to to catch on the catchy thingy.

ANy ideas, ive spaced the hinges and the lock mechanism and played around with different positions.

and it just seems like the seal is too thick, even though it look identical to the old seal.

I bought the seal from dsn about 3 months ago.

It should be tight untill it settles in, once you do get the boot shut (may requre and assistant)
leave it shut for as long as possable and prefferably somewere warm.

In time it will get easer to shut as the seal beds in.
