Hi I'm stripping down my a 998 engine circa 1975 problem is that the dizzy is stuck. I have undone the bolts and sprayed it with liberty spray but it wont budge. I don't want to be to aggressive and break it. I wondered if anyone had any ideas. I am stripping the engine right down so may be able to knock out from inside ? Help any one any ideas of a non destructive nature welcome

Is it moving at all? If it's not moving at all you won't even be able to knock it from each side, you could try and adapt a slide hammer? What spray are you using, if your using WD40 it's not really going to help, apparently plus gas is the best although I've never used it

It's probably just a 'dry' o-ring. A good heave normally gets them out.

I'm assuming you can't even rotate it?

KNock? You are trying to pull it away from th eengine I hope? so knocking from the 'bottom' I hope? Got mine out with some penetrating oil and a little bit of leverage :P Could try to tap th esides with a rubber hammer to 'break' the seal

Plus gas......spray around the dizzy base and leave for a few hours. It's the best penatrating oil there is. Euro car parts are selling it for around a fiver with free p+p via there web site or eBay. It will be the best thing in your tool box.
