Hey Guys!

As the title states, I am trying to source information on how to re-wire an SPi loom to fit a Carb engine.

now before anybody starts saying "use the search button".. i have... endlessly & there are many threads about this topic, but none that specify the points which need to be completed in a clear manor.

The story goes:

I've had an SPi since 2009. ive had endless issues with the injection system. to overcome the issues i sourced a Morespeed 1340 online. I've taken the SPi block out and replaced it with the carb engine, along with all the auxiliaries that come with a carb mini such a the starter motor and fuel system. when i purchased the 1340, the loom was beyond repair, so my only option is to rewire my current SPi loom (due to a new carb loom being close to £200)

i have looked on many many threads, and i am yet to source one that has a bullet point list of what needs doing.

I am hoping this thread not only helps me, but anyone else hoping to do this conversion in the future.

With care you will find that you can strip out the ECU wiring with moderate ease from the main wiring - just a couple of points, the fuel pump is controlled by the relay module, the starter also gets a supply from the relay module, and the temp sender parses it's signal via the ECU.

Apart from those little points it's ease to strip out the fuel injection stuff.

Thanks man!
As far as tge fuel pump is concerned, I replaced it kr a mechanical olong with everything else, its NOT a spi conversion, its literally ising an SPi shell with Catb engine and auxiliaries :)

Just the temp sender you need to look for - find the wire that come out of the ECU to the gauge and extend it to the new sender - the ECU controls the gauge by PWM based on the analogue signal that comes in from the sender.

It's actually a quit satisfying job - sit on the floor and strip back all the ECU look stuff from the standard loom.
