Hi all,

Looking for some help to identify some wires in the boot of my 93 Rio. I did look on the wiring diagram, but could not see to spot it

Images can be seen here https://imgur.com/a/zgyVD46

Thank you

What are the colours of the wires ?

Wire 1 connector has a blue with a black stripe and the other being blue with a white stripe

Wire 2 has a purple/ plum colour with a light pink stripe

Wire 3 has two connectors. First connector has a black wire. The second connector has two cables both being blue with a green/lime stripe

I hope that helps describe them better. I do have a link to the imgur album.

Happy to perform checks or provide more pictures to help

A 'base' colour Blue is a Headlamp Wire. Blue /Black is from a fuse block to the Right Hand Headlamp - not a colour used in a Mini !
Blue / White if Main or High Beam

What these are doing in the boot ???  I'd say someone has done some home handyman wiring here, or they could be for an after-market Sound System.

Purple / Pink is rear window heater.

Black is Earth

Blue / Green is headlamp washer pump

Wire 1 coming from above the fuel tank does seem to be audio related as there is an after market system.

Sorry, but what do you mean by headlamp washer pump? I know there is a blue green stripe cable in the boot on the driver side, but this is located on the passenger side with two cables going into the male bullet plug

Thank you for helping me figure out wire 2, the rear window heater and black being earth

In the later cars, they did have a washer pump in the boot, I can't recall if that was for windscreen or headlamps (or if it did both), but I was just working from the colour codes and Rovers standard colours and that's what it comes up as.

A UK spec car wasn't equipped with headlamp washers (to my knowledge), so this will be windscreen wash only

Wire 2 in my Rio is not connected to anything just like yours.
It’s not for the rear window heater, as that’s green and yellow on the passenger side, and black on the driver’s side on my Rio.
Not sure what this wire is for to be honest, as I can’t see anything that it connects too on my car.

Interesting. I will have to have to trace the wire. What does your Wire 1 and Wire 3 connect to?
