What size is the screw that holds the dizzy cap on? Mine have been abused and rounded.

Also, is it possible to ID My dizzy from this shot? I wouldn't suppose it is so how do I ID it? All we know is it's a Lucas on a 1275 A+ block.

With the screw cap I think it is a 65DM4
Screws normally come with new caps - not sure on their size

That is a problem. The car is '76 estate with an A+ engine - no engine numbers at all. No black box.

Cheers Graeme, I just need replacement screws though a replacement cap wouldn't break the bank, just need to find out which dizzy it actually is...

As far as I know there has only ever been one screw fit cap used on the A+ series. Although that is usually on the electronic type dizzy with a black box on the side.
I might have an old cap with screws at home - I'll look over the weekend

I think that is a "side entry" cap, for a 45D Dizzy, and I think the screws are captive in the cap?

Well this is confusing! It definitely isn't side-entry and it definitely is A+ with the single bolt fixing!?

I'll do that, hopefully work out what thread it is. I would still like to ID the dizzy if only for future reference.

The 45d Distributor body is not normally drilled and tapped for a screw on cap? standard they use spring clips. The same for the 59D and even the ducellier had clips standard. the only one i have seen is the same as Graeme said, the 65D4M which had the module on the side from about 1990 on the A+? odd one?

Can you get a better picture ? maybe with the cap off.

Here we go. Found out that an M5 screw fits for mounting.
Here's some better pics of the dizzy:

They may be M5, but need a wasted stem so they don't get caught up in the cap and stop it seating properly
