Yep, so not this weekend but the next, 11.00am, Saturday the 31st if this month. Moorlands pub, Sheffield (or rather the layby next to it).

My car is still in the garage, however I am 98.5% certain it'l be back early next week. If not, the run will still go ahead as I will be in another car :P

There will be a variety of cars, not as many or an much variety as expected, but its the clubs first run :P Im thinking of a half hour - hour meeting at the start, then the run (see above posts for the rout - word doc) then a bit more tyre kicking at a pub at the end location. For the run, im thinking it could be a good idea to go each make together - ie, all classic minis followed by all Binis, then, VWs, then all TVRs, then all Fords etc etc etc. All makes and models and levels of modification/restoration are welcome. At this point though its looking like mainly minis :P which isn't a bad thing.

Hope loads can make it and make it a bigger and better day. Throughout the summer I will do a meeting and run of sorts in the area at least every other month, but if this one goes well and is well turned out, i will make it monthly.

Remember, no fuel stops on the 60 mile rout, 2 preplanned stops, 1 with Loos...., no stop long enough for lunch, so eat before we leave, you are responsible for your own driving, and PRINT AND BRING the word document with the rout in it! not the RAC one as its directions are a little misleading and off. This will be indispensable if you get left behind at a junction!

Thanks, James Newsam

Hey all, Sorry to be spamming a little here, but just a reminder! Lifted from the facebook page, in case any of you aren't on facebook.

The first DASHr run is this Saturday, 31st May 14. Starting at the lay-by next to the moorlands pub Sheffield, 11.00am.
The more come the better the event, so give others a nudge, tell people in your make specific forums and clubs and get as many as possible to come along.

A 60 mile drive into the peak, for any car make, model and condition.
11.00 to 11.30am, kick tyres and show your car to the rest of us. I may say a few words before we start... sorry, i will make it brief.
11.30am we set off, group together with other cars like yours, and follow in convoy.
A few very brief stops on rout, breaking up about 4 hours of driving through some of the most stunning roads the Peak District has to offer.
Then at 4.00pm aprox finish at the pub in Ringinlow Village, Sheffield. A drink and more tyre kicking.
Weather at the moment looks to be sunshine and showers, but this could change.
For full details, a rout plan and a few other reminders, download, print, read and bring with you the Document attached here.

When you get to the start point, line up facing away from the main road, at a slight angle. This is so we can all get some pictures, and all fit easily. When we set off try to line up with other cars like yours if possible, at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit, signpost Baslow, we will wait in a pull in about a mile down this road to regroup.

Any pictures and Videos you take can I ask a favour of having them emailed to me at [email protected] This is so I can put them on this websites albums.
If this event is well attended I may do another next month, if not, then maybe in a few months time.

A small reminder to bring the rout plan, a full tank of fuel, that your responsible for your own driving, behave when in and around the pub car park especially, park at the far end of the pubs car park, and finally enjoy the drive!

Hope lots of you and others can make it

The run is tomorrow (31st), weather given is sun and cloud, quick reminder that if the suns out so are the police with the speed guns and so remember you are responsible for your own driving. It should be a good day, so far as I know we are expecting a TVR or 2, Some minis, some VWs, and a few Toyota, maybe also the odd old ford. I don't really know what numbers to expect, but the car parks I have chosen have large capacities which don't have to be filled, so all should be well.

Last minuet minor change, well change for me anyway. The garage who promised my car back yesterday called me to tell me that after looking into some of the issues, they had found that my car had had a bump before i had owned it and he had found the subframe to be twisted (bodged back together by a previous owner). Not good news, and this was causing issues with wheel alignment. So its not ready. The run WILL be going ahead, however I will be passenger in the lead car which will now be my Dad in his Dark coloured TVR Cerbera (C11RB_). Should still be as gooder day as it would have been, and as the event is open to any car it doesn't matter its not a mini. Only think it could effect is that he has never lead a run out before, I will be in the passenger seat to stop him from booting it shooting off, and also give him a prod if he starts driving too slow, so be extra forgiving if the pace isn't perfect, or doesn't stop on the best places.

Hope to see a lot of you there! Lay-by next to The Moorlands pub, Sheffield, 11:00 am for an 11:30 set off. Sorry for the disruption my car has caused. Hopefully it will not be such a pain on future runs. Remember your rout plans and petrol! :P
Thanks,
James Newsam - Organiser DASHr

Thank you to the people that came today on the first DASHr meet. We had good weather and good ish luck. Braking issues seemed to be the theme for the day with the TVRs brake lights packing in, Kierans Minis brakes cooking and loosing fluid and Decs Mini also with very warm brakes, and finally one of the Minis had to cut the run short after his breaks stuck on and ended up on the back of an RAC van. We had 6 Classic minis, 1 VW Lupo GT and 1 TVR Cerbera. Great to see friends and meet new people too. Unfortunately the Sunday drivers and cyclists were out in force a day early, but it was still a very enjoyable run through some great scenery and on some nice roads. Have to say the view behind me was very nice too. Huge thanks to Kevin for taking some no doubt brilliant pictures of the cars. He took some at the start of the run and some from a point whilst moving and these will be posted in an album on here, however if you would like the full quality image, please inbox me with your reg number and email address and I will get them emailed to you. If anyone else has any pictures or videos could you please email me them at [email protected] so I can put them in the photos of this page, also as I forgot my camera XD

Thanks again for coming, hoping to do another in 2 or so months time, keep an eye on the forums and this page.

James Newsam - Organiser.

Will there be another mini meet at some point? I don't come on here too often so missed the last ones :(

It would be good to get out and about with a few others, not much happens round Sheffield that I know of. The club used to have trips out but it all dropped off a bit.

Awesome! The more the merrier, has only been 2 runs so far, the first with around 15 minis, the second with mostly minis and a few others, this had about 8 cars. Both seemed to be good days. Im going to organise one for about a month and a bits time, im just looking at dates at the moment :P Itle probably be on a Sunday late morning to late afternoon. Ive set up a facebook group but for various reasons ill soon be switching to a "blogger" or Twitter page, just setting them up at the moment. https://www.facebook...336662/?fref=ts is the facebook page. :)

Dont worry ill always post up on the events page here :) and im just putting the finishing touches to the blogger page we/I will be switching to soon, as after Facebook lost/sold some personal info I had only put on facebook, ive decided they shouldn't be able to make money off me/be so careless with my info, and so will, at the end of this week, have lost me as a customer/user. You wont be alone any more XD ill post up the link to the new page in this thread soon.
James.

Update: Here is the NEW CLUB PAGE on blogger: http://dashruns.blogspot.co.uk/

Please continue to support the club on the new site.
Thanks, James - organiser.
