What a load of complete and utter tosh! I've never been anywhere near a convertible and I'm as bald as coot!....

......Not that I've ever actually seen a coot, or noticed how bald they are, do they drive convertibles?

If you get the helmet you will have to get the flying jacket and an MG....... It's almost obligatory. We have a cooper and a cabriolet, top down driving is great, not bald yet but very grey/white. Have pulled hair out on occasions working on the cars though.

That would explain why my hair started racing to the back of my head - I had a few MGF and TFs (dont laugh) and they were great fun to fling around - never could convice the wife that when I said lets get the top off that I meant her and the car!! haha

Driving a convertible does at least get your balding bonce nicely tanned!

I love 'em! Had loads over the last twenty five years, probably ever since I read a piece by Steve Cropley when he was editor of Autocar. He spoke about taking a Suzuki jeep for it's MoT and going down to the shops in his Westfield and explained that any journey in a car with its roof down, however boring and mundane, was motoring, not just driving!

I'm bald in as much as I zero crop what hair I have left which gives an overall effect of baldness although it is a weekly chore.

I have a British Open Classic so not strictly a convertible however anything that would help me having to stop the nonsense of weekly buzz cutting my threadbare head would be welcomed.

MX5's handle well but a few more horses would be good.

you need to drive one a while to understand them, 140bhp isn't ground breaking but is actually perfect. I have messed about and am now up to 180bhp and its a totally different beast. I think they got it spot on, if they had upped the power (and it's very simple to do for made date cost) they would have had loads of non driving nuts falling off the road. What they made was a perfect balanced car that is a perfect drivers car. The only car I have had that came close was my 944 turbo. With an extra 40 horses its a very different car and requires a lot of care in the wet, but at least when it goes its nice and progressive. Torsen LSD is next on my shopping list........
