Not wise to use it in a Mini though. Don't think I'd use it in any classic car. Reclaimed muck probably.

I wouldn't use Wilkos oil in my lawnmower!

As far as I know its not a reclaimed oil but it is incredibly thin and probably doesn't have much in the way of additives. I've used it in my mini when I literally couldn't afford anything else and was loosing about a pint every 100 miles through leaks, but if I were you, I'd look out for either morris's golden film which seems to be a decent oil and has plenty of the right additives, or if on a budget, comma 20/50 is pretty good and only cost me £8 for a gallon from my local parts shop. Quite frankly, unless you have no other option, I'd avoid the wilkinsons stuff as it would almost certainly cost you more in terms of faster component wear than you would save on the cost of the oil.

Ideal as a running in oil!

have you checked the ACEA or API specs of it? I would guess it would comply with some spec or other, almost all oils do (comma motorway being the only one I have found that doesn't and shouldn't be confused with comma sonic which is decent stuff). I would be surprised if its 'thin' going in as it has to pass the viscosity specs at the very least. It may be thin coming out though. As for 'reclaimed muck', all silkolene oils are re manufactured and have been used in motorbike racing for years with great success. They often have to survive near 20000 rpm and a shared engine and gearbox so the abuse of oil is probably closer to an A series than most cars so I wouldn't ignore something because it is reclaimed. All that said I wouldn't use the Wilkos stuff in mine. I use comma sonic changed VERY regularly but would never use the £8 stuff as it must be motorway which is truly terrible. As far as I know its not a reclaimed oil but it is incredibly thin and probably doesn't have much in the way of additives. I own a car accessories and parts shop and I can't buy Comma 20/50 Classic (the one in a tin) for £8. So I suspect as above that it is the cheap non spec'd oil.

I am pretty sure the halfords classic oil is just the comma oil re-branded, ive used both and ive found no difference
It won't be Comma Motorway, it is Comma Classic.

I would rather use an oil that has some testing behind it. I contacted Comma regarding the motorway a couple of years ago as I was considering using it in my MGB as it gets oild changes every three months whatever. I spoke to the technical section as I assumed it would adhere to ACEA specs but that they simply had not been listed. They said that they make no guarantees on the oil specs except that it is a 20/50w. Nothing at all. Needless to say I would t touch it with a barge pole. The Wilkos may be the same I don't know. But I wouldn't use comma motorway in ANY circumstances. The fact that it doesn't leak is worse in a way as it means you are tempted to leave it in there longer. As least if its leaking it needs topping up with fresh oil regularly.have you checked the ACEA or API specs of it? Unfortunately I haven't been able to compare the specs, but the Wilkos 20/50 was considerably thinner from the very start (I actually stopped pouring it in to check that I'd got the right grade!) than any other 20/50 oil I've seen, and it leaked out much faster than anything else I've used as a result. So while I can't comment on whether the comma is the oil to use every day for the rest of the car's lifetime, I'm pretty sure that as a one off, the comma would be better simply because being more viscous, it would at least stay put rather than leaking out at a rapid rate and potentially leaving you with an engine with low or no oil, which I'm sure you would agree is a much worse scenario.

Bit over the top isn't it? I gave my 1 year old 900 mile oil & sparks to a friend to re-use recently....

Can never be over the top, I bet it comes out black even after 3 months.

it's used a daily, if you watch the oil pressure it starts to drop off after four months ish of daily use so I changed every three months. Its a twenty minute job on an MGB and a bit of oil is a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild! It still cost me a quarter of the money a year that it costs to service the wife's mazda3. As for using second hand oil, well my dad used to paint our shed in it but not sure there is much else I would do with it unless I had an engine I was running until it blew. False economy otherwise, comma sonic works out at £13 a gallon when I buy a dozen at a time. Oil filters are £20 for ten.I was considering using it in my MGB as it gets oild changes every three months whatever.
