It's long been a dream of mine (and i'm sure many others!) to own a bike engined mini and i've always wanted to know how they cope potterin round town? Do you have to keep revvin them to crawl around town? Do any of you guys use them on a day to day basis? I'll probably never get to build one but would like to carry on dreamin!

1. Not any use in an answer to his question
2. Have you driven either, so you have the right to judge?

Yes they can be driven round town without high revs. Took mine out in the wet and covered over 50 miles without going over 6000 revs. Felt like driving a normal car just a bit noisier.
Wouldn't say they are practical for everyday use although Jimmy did use his for work everyday untill the bodykit started to fall off(nothing to do with the bike engine conversion).

To be honest they wouldn't make a good everyday car. They're just not practical enough. Small fuel tank very noisey, very hard ride, geared very low so motorway cruising involves 7000rpm at 70ish.

But I don't think most people buy them for that purpose. As a weekend fun car it doesn't get much better!!! Fantastic fun!

And no revving required to pull away like people think. The myth of grabby clutches easy stalling rev high to move etc etc are simply not true. They are very easy to drive. Sometimes finding neutral can be fun when you haven't driven it for a while though..... 1st 2nd 1st 2nd 1st 2nd lol

cheers guys, unfortunately you've just made me want one more. number 2 on the xmas list this year second only to the winning lottery numbers i think. Must be amazing to dust off some of these "fast and furious" supras etc. Love it!
