The lamp fitted is a 50mm aftermarket fog light and is "E" marked

I bought it off eBay a while back. I think it is a Hella brand.

I took my osr reversing light bulb out and fitted my fog lamp ( red bulb) in and wired it in accordingly on a fog lamp switch .
Then left a white reversing light nsr

This is actually illegal, so don't do this.

Why? I was told to do this by a mot guy back in 2005 and ever year it has passed its mot ! In fact just passed it again on Saturday and since 2005 its been tested by a least 4 different companies and different testers.

Having the fog light in the rear cluster will not mean it'll fail an MOT, the MOT only tests that it works but does not check that it fulfils the requirements of the Road vehicles lighting regulations 1989..

http://www.legislati...chedule/11/made

The fog light needs to be a minimum of 100mm from the rear light emitting brake/stop light, while it is in the mini rear light cluster it is not, in fact it's right next to it.
