Hi there, i was wondering if you could point me in some sort of direction to solve this problem with stiff gear changes I'm having.

 

I can select all gears fine when the engine isn't running. I can always select reverse no problem, however sometimes changing down from 3rd to 2nd it wont go in and just crunches... Also after sitting in neutral and going to put it into first is a nightmare, probably goes in once every 10 attempts... 

 

Sometimes its fine, sometimes its hell. Seems to be the longer I drive, the more often I can't get it to change down smoothly... Changing up the gears is faultless...

 

I'm going to bleed my clutch again, but some people have been saying that it could just be the gear linkage at fault, can the gear linkage make gear changes 'hit and miss'?? 

 

Any help would be great!!

Sounds like the clutch may not be releasing completely.

 

I haven't done much adjustment on this myself yet, but these two articles claim to help with adjustment:

Thanks for the reply, It does seem like the isn't disengaging properly. Would this only happen on down shifts? Because when going up the gears, it's fine...

That could be yes , check for a crunch when in neutral and selecting reverse.
and then check between neutral and 4th.

Well i found today that my return spring has managed to split the rubber boot/seal on the slave cylinder... This will be drawing in air, yes??

 

It doesn't crunch into reverse nor 4th gear

I've only tried pumping the clutch when stationary to try and make it go into 1st smoother, it didn't seem to make a difference though...
