I just started driving my 2013 Cooper S I bought used early this year. Fun car. Back in the day I had a 1960 Austin Mini Countryman.

I have read some about issues with the engine and trying to find out if I should be worried. I am at roughly 8500 miles.

1. Carbon buildup on valves

2. Timing chain wear and broken guides

Also the car has 17 inch runflats and is very harsh riding. Looking for recommendations as to what I could switch over to and how much it will help the ride. I am not looking for summer tires or anything high performance. Just something with decent grip and improved ride and long lasting. Do people buy used run flats?

Thanks

John

Hi,

This forum is mainly for the older classic mini although some members have knowledge of the newer BMW minis as well. You may get a quicker and more informed opinion from forums like www.mini2.com which deals more with newer minis. However if someone one here does have the answers to your questions they will respond.
