so im doing a bit of a rebuild this summer and im torn between two ways to go with my mini :/

i have to do loads of welding and bodywork so if i choose one way i have to stick to it after the car gets resprayed.

i either keep the wide group 5 arches and deep dish wheels or i go for standard arches and have a narrower set of alloys

or something similar to this ( second image isnt mine)

Keep it as is, just space the rears out to fill the arches.

Standard!!

Too many stamped & fat minis around. Far too few standard cars.

Standard. Standard. Standard. You know it makes sense.

i know financially it make soo much sense but i love this car and i dont want to end up with a car i dont have any connection with after i waste money on it :/ i think W&P arches look quite classy but not sure how they are attached if i want to sell up and put standard arches on it :/ is there much handling difference with the wider wheels?

Yep.

Although if you already have the wide Grp 5s on, and wide wheels, chances are that the front wings have been cut back already to allow for full lock on the steering, so it won't be straightforward to put either standard arches or W&Ps back on.

Keep it how it is. Looks really nice. And put your roof rack back on ;)

There's plenty standard Mini's about! Make yours different!

When fitting spacers make sure you have good thread engagement in the nuts

oh yer i have already trimmed back the front wings to allow clearance but im putting new wings on it anyway so ill have to cut them back afterwards :/ i put the spacers on and yer it looks much better :) theres about 7-8 threads engaging the stud to the nut. is this okay?

also is the handling better with or without wider wheels? i imagine there's more roll with it narrower
