Again thank you for more advice everyone 😃 I rang frost up today to ask them to send me a catalogue & to ask about this por15 paint...they recon I will need undercoat as it needs to be back to bare metal....I'm still not 100% sure about this as I'm not sure if the sales people there are on sales related pay, or weather there right. In an ideal world yes you would rub back to bare metal, treat everything with etch primer, but the advertisement claims you don't need to, so when I ring up to order it I will ask to speak to technical dept...I still think I don't need any. I'm just glad to hear over all it's great paint. Thanks again 😃

There's absolutely no need to use a traditional undercoat with POR15 - in fact it would defeat the whole purpose of using POR15! However, their Marine Clean and Metal Prep products are generally used before applying POR15. See all the POR15 info you need on there site here,,,

Taken from the FAQ page...
CAN I APPLY POR-15 OVER OTHER PAINTS?
Yes, but you will lose the important benefits of POR-15. You must remember that ordinary paints are weakened by exposure to moisture. POR-15 can't stop rust if it isn't in direct contact with the base metal.
So again, does this contradict what there claiming ?
