OK does the car have a 24 fuse fusebox?

If so the fuse for NS side and tail is number 13 it should be a 10 amp,

the other side is number 14 but I cant find out which side the number plate light is on (is it working?) if its on remove fuse 14 and see if it goes off if it does Cal844 just gave the worst advice I have seen on the forum as you would have connected a probably faulty circuit to a different one, who knows what it would have done!

You are not 100% clear as to wether the stop light works on the NS or is it just the tail part of the lamp? The stop lights are on the same fuse (Fuse 2) so I really cant see any reason for them running two wires in the loom rather than just looping at the NS light like mine in the top photo.

I will wait for your reply to those questions first just in case you have something totally weird in your boot, :-)

Cool thats why I decided to wait, if it does not then they should be linked at the NS. More info and maybe pics required please.

If one sides working then it proves there is power to both circuits arriving via the front to rear loom, just need to identify where the fault is in the boot wiring.

It would make more sense if it was the NS working and the OS that did not IMO as the loom comes there first?

Mine is the same as the one in your photo Pete. With the O/S light coming off the near side plug. The indicator and reverse light work all fine. But also noticed the number plate light doesn't work either and this comes for the same connection as the brake/tail light. There is no rear light or brake. With regards to the fuses it has the small 4 fuse box under the bonnet and some inline ones only. There's no other fuse box is there?

Im up to my neck in engine mounts right now but as the cables come to the one not working first you must have power there I think, I will have a think once I have sorted my car out.

How are you getting on? I am in staffs too, if I can help I will. It must be something simple if the OS is working, I have some spare lights we can steal the plug from and proper crimpers, test equipment etc. Where are you and is the car driveable?

Check the alternator charge rate, if its not charging then you wont run long before the voltage drops and you conk out. 13.7-14.3v with engine revs 2000rpm+
