i have a 1986 mayfair with a 998cc engine and it wont start.basically i went to a local bp garage and put some fuel in her and it was a very hot day i drove home about 2 miles everything was fine.
about 30mins later i drove about 300 yards down the road and at the junction the car started cutting out a further couple of yards and she wouldnt start again and that was 2 weeks ago.

i have changed the plugs set the point gaps,new ht leads got a new distributor cap and checked whether i accidentally put diesel in but i cant get her to run she turns over no problem.

am i scuppered or can anyone give me some advice

ok a few things, when you turn it over does it spark,

and 2nd if you remove the fuel line from the carb and turn the car over, remembering to use a can to catch the fuel when you do. does any fuel come out.

depends on which you dont hae depends on what you do next
