Is it acceptable for me to park in the parent and child bays with my massively pregnant wife?

Well Supermarket Car parks are generally poorly managed anyway so why not?

If the Police can park in the pick up point at my local Tesco while they get their lunch then i guess what is good for the goose is good for the gander as they say

Absolutely. The bays are bigger to account for wider door opening which I'm assuming your wife most definitely needs. She's carrying the baby, just not in its car seat.

But then do you let fat people use them too, they both chose to become fat/wider its just that one is a temporary measure and part of procreation the other is from eating too much of the junk tesco have if you can find a space wide enough to get out of the car and get in the store! Lol

Just slighty ot but why did I pay £70 to take a 15kg case to spain and back when the guy next to me took a single 10kg carry on case for free yet he was at least 30kg heavier than me? Net weight of 25kg or a large a small case more than I took, its not fair.

Fair comment. But where would you rather a pregnant/obese person who has difficulty getting out of their car park? In a wide space so they could swing the doors open wide, or in an ordinary one right next to you where they can't (but might try)? I know which one I'd prefer they were in.

My Girlfriend has a gripe that why should she pay the same amount for a size 8 garment and others pay the same amount for a size 20 in the same design. You could make 2 or 3 size 8s out of one size 20.

I hate it when people park crooked in spaces or over to one side so when you park beside them you can't hardly get out. One person did this before and moaned at me for parking too close even though i was perfectly in the centre of my space. They didn't argue with me for long, ill tell you that!

Some retailers did try to charge more for outsize garments a few years back I remember but came under huge fire from the Equality brigade over it and it was swiftly abandoned. Unfortunately, Britain is getting fatter ....

I am just playing devils advocate really but lets say there are 10 spaces that can be near the door and a further 20 at the end of the isles nearest the door up for grabs, by the time you have used up

Disabled bays,

Parent and child bays,

Pregnant people bays,

Obese people bays,

Old but not decrepit enough to be awarded a blue badge bays,

Lazy woman in a Range Rover Evoque who didnt see what the bay was because she was on her Iphone 5 all the time even though every Evoque must surely have a blue tooth link even on the base model bay,

Police pretending they are making a shop lifting arrest bay yet always comes back with donuts bays,

etc etc etc there just isnt enough room to give everyone who thinks they are more important than the next person a space without some form of valet parking or something.

:D Lol

Just had a couple do it. I didn't need the space today but watched them put their 2 bag shopping away as I was parking up in bay opposite

I guess all those complaining ( not saying you should not) keep religiously to the speed limit also?

What has this got to do with speed limits?

If you are obese to the point that you can only walk short distances (under 50m I believe) then you're eligible to apply for a blue badge and therefore are probably entitled to park in disabled bays anyway. (That is if you're not already unable work due to your size and are in receipt of disability living allowance & a blue badge any way.) Whereas being heavily pregnant isn't considered a disability, in fact thanks to the PC/womens lib brigade, you're not even allowed to refer to it as a medical condition these days!!

Personally, I've never understood the need to put parent & child spaces so close to the store. Unlike disabled bays, the idea is that they just need to be wider, not nearer. If you have small children then you, and they, are generally young and fit enough to walk as far as everyone lose, if not further. If you're children are so small that they can't walk that far, then generally they'll be in a buggy or trolley anyway. If they put the parent and child spaces as far away from the store as possible, then it would probably deter everybody else from parking in them in the first place, meaning only parents who genuinely need the extra space would park there.

That is a good point, people needs to be within 50 foot of the door yet they can walk 4 miles up and down the enormastore or hyper mall, Lol

I nearly got my best mate killed by speeding when i first passed my test and ever since i have ALWAYS made sure i drive safely.

There is no way i am ever putting loved ones or anyone else on the road for that matter at risk again.

Plus i really could do without the fines and points associated with it if you get caught

Ben
