Its got more power than 1275 but roughly the same torque just to give you an idea, without putting it on a rolling road I couldn't say exact. It will be front wheel drive and will mount to existing engine mounts, however some additional mounts will need to be added to the subframe to stabilise the engine. I'm currently looking at materials as it is currently over engineered and does not allow the frame to flex. The kit will be a bit like the busa kit from lynx AE when its finished

Lynx AE don't do a busa frame/ kit it's only a Yamaha r1 kit they do. For the busas they sell ecus, throttle bodies and a reverse gear

The smallest engine I would consider for a lightweight mini is a 900, just for information the GSXR750 and GSXR1000 are almost identical in size well at least the early engines are k1/2 and the like.

I had a GSR750 K1 and the torque figures are about 50lbs at 12,750rpm, power is good though at about 140hp

The gsxr1000 would be my choice

Getting slightly left field, but I wonder if anyone has ever used a V max engine? I doubt you would get one cheap but those things have enough torque to dislocate arms.

I have developed this design over the past year i have looked at various engines under 1000cc. The bandit 1200 has slightly more torque than a gsxr750 (2lbft) but the power is much lower due to it being a detuned engine but less power. The gsxr 750 was a tuned bandit 600 engine with slightly bigger bore and displacement with the increased power due to the cams fitted and some other performance components.

A standard mini weights just under 700kg and the bike weighs around 180kg give or take a few kilos depending on the bike.

I believe the power would be suitable since the mini power figure would have been measured on a rolling road with the mini stationary, same with the bike power spec.

The k5 gsxr1000 has only 18lbft more torque than the gsxr750 with only a small horsepower increase.

The hayabusa has both more power (not much more) but has more torque. This increase in performance comes at a higher cost though. My aim was to create a conversion which would provide performance and reliability, which would also be affordable to people who could not afford busa or r1 conversion, especially since the cost of fast mini engines has increased due to limited supply. Sorry for the confusion about the lynx AE kit, i had based my research on pro-motive, lynx AE and zcars kits and i got mixed up.

I think the thing that has always but me off these conversions is the cost of the them.

What sort of price would your kit be and what would it include?

id be interested in prices for this.  also id probably use water cooled engines rather than things like the bandit engines. the 750 gsxr s a cracking engine though as mentioned I don't think it would pull 5 fatty's very well  lol

I'd be interested in seeing how this panned out. A little wonder Ive always had about these sort of things, is how does the clutch hold up to hauling the extra weight? Im not a mechanic so its not a pointed finger accusation and more of me "thinking out loud".

K5 Gixer 1000 has a slipper clutch and can be retro fitted to the K3 1000, not sure how that relates to the previous Q just thought I'd mention it.

I know the other kits are very expensive, obviously this will not be as high as those. A kit would include a cradle, additional brackets, diff mounting and a modified differential to start with, I haven't looked into gear change mechanism or wiring yet as that will require a little more work, I'm hoping to have a running prototype in a couple of weeks which will then be tested on a rolling road. Out of interest what price would you guys consider reasonable as you are my target audience

I reckon with a sale price of around £1500-£1800 you'd sell a few. Not sure you could do it for that and make money as I don't know your overheads etc but when the others are charging £3.5k that is a rip off!
