I've my engine built but when I try to start it up it just turns, there is a spark but there doesn't seem to be petrol entering the cylinder, I have twin su carbs and there is petrol being pumped into them but that seems to be as far as it gets, would anyone have a clue what the problem is? Thanks

Timing is 180* out?

Maybe you've put the dizzy drive in upside down, just rotate the leads for now and if it works you know it's that!!

Also you might have a block in the carb, any fuel in the float bowl?

I haven't removed the dizzy so I don't think that's the problem there was a wee bit but not much I think a blockage could be the problem

Pour a little amount of fuel into the intakes to test if its fuel related, if it starts then inspect the needle valves and see if they are blocked.

Well got home and put some petrol in the intake and it started up and ran for as long as I held the throttle open so I'm guessing it just needs the carbs fully set up an I should hopefully be fine

Strip and find out why there is no fuel to the engine from the float bowls, needle valves or blocked jet tubes, check the pumps proving fuel ok in a jampot cranking over
