And, unlike some cheaper companies, a lot of their profits are ploughed back into development of better products to original specifications.

Having occasionally helped with some of the testing and development they really do listen to feedback and revisit parts if and when there is an issue.

Well....would we expect anything less when a substandard part is sent out in the first place? I wonder if there is any way of knowing if the opening and closing pressure of these switches has ever been checked?
Ya they did the right thing, but is that anything more than they should have?

Capt M - I think its the fact that they sent another part straight off with a phone call without any quibble or sending back etc which you get at lots of others retailers. I have to say I have always received my parts swiftly (even on cheapest postal option) and when I ask for advice its given freely - even though it meant on one occasion that I didnt buy an expensive suspension upgrade - it just gives you added confidence

I think this has been done to death before, particularly on the dodgy brake caliper issue.
I believe that the bits shouldn't be dodgy in the first place, particularly the calipers and that the consumer should be providing the quality control for components.
I point out that this isn't a dig at them , but a dig in general at parts that shouldn't be sent out in the first place.
I never had a dodgy part out of unipart years back, yet mediocrity has become accepted now

Presumable you used you TMF+ discount and MS therefore decieded that a couple of quid part did not warrant a damming thread being started?

Hehehehehe....There are times when a thread in praise of an organization can do more harm than good - this being one of them.
I quite agree that it's tough to make a crust in business now and that to do so, then there has to be a compromise between price and quality - nobody would pay to have OEM spec quality parts made for their mini...end of story.
But.....the stuff on the market now can be from OK to down right shameful in quality.....i don't think any supplier is doing anything exemplary by changing over a dodgy part without question, since the part should never have been sent out untested in the first place - simple.

^^^ Which is why I go out of my way to track down and buy New Old Stock parts from the 60's and 70's for safety critical components - e.g. I just bought a whole lot of NOS ball joints still wrapped in BMC and BL paper, and a NOS set of bearings, all for less than the cost of a non-genuine new set of each.
But Minispares is my supplier of choice for all Mini parts that I do not have NOS or cannot restore to OEM condition myself - bought hundreds of £'s worth of stuff from them and have never had a problem - a professionally operated company with great products!

I'm sure you'll be able to turn it into one....again.
As always, the facts speak for themselves

Iyaaa sih, they try hard and deserve to be recognized. I'd love to see them source stuff that wasn't so problematic.
I know for a fact that I'd be pissed off if I had to change a brand new item because it was duff. In the UK minispares are a few minutes away by car, but in indonesia it's a whole load of trouble to import something.
Why the hell can't the UK produce spares for classic cars?
