Below is the highest recorded mileage for a New MINI that I have heard of, in a 33 page thread (with photos of speedo) that has been going on MINI2.com forum for some years now, recording mainly routine wear and tear replacement parts to be expected, such as tyres, brake pads, rotors/discs, alternator, steering pump, fuel pump and clutch with oil changes every 17-18,000 miles:
'HWS' is an 85 year old 2002 R50 MINI Cooper owner from Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the USA, and his latest report was at 555,555 miles on May 17th, 2014........
First I Drove 1/2 Million Miles, then 55,555.5 more:

"Yes, I'm still here, still driving my original 2002 MINI Cooper - and still enjoying every mile!
Here's how the odometer looked a few days ago. (All 6's will take a couple more years!)
The MINI is 11.8 years old now, so that turns out to be about 47,000 miles per year; -
I used to average more than that but, since I was married a couple years ago,
I have two people's schedules to consider before taking off on a 3, 4, or 500 mile joy ride.
Yep, - still the original muffler, shocks, struts, starter, transmission, and most other things.
The automatic temperature control acted funny on several of last winter's
coldest days - but the heated seats kept me from freezing.
Everything else still works perfectly including that little 'window dance' when I open a door."
